1981 911 SC Euro center console

Interior

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC Euro; Year: 1981; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 125000;

I have a 1981 911 SC Euro. Originally it had a plastic center console around the shifter and the parking brake lever. A previous owner removed this piece when he was prepping the car for the track. It is my understanding that the console had no electrical controlls such as for the heater, vents or fan speed. It was simply a storage compartment. My question is this: Could that center console had been an added option? If it was deletable then I could still meet the "stock F class" requirements for PCA racing. My car, except for the allowable suspension changes, is otherwise still considered stock. If it was standard equipment then I may need to find a replacement so that my car is not reclassified as "prepared" and moved to a E class. Please let me know!
