1981 911SC Auxiliary air valve

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1981; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 125,000;

My 81Sc runs great when warm. I just had the CO checked with a meter, mixture adjusted, and idle set at 950rpm.I've checked the auxiliary air relay when the motor is cold by gently passing a small drift into one side and out the other. Once the engine is warm,the slide is shut and the drift will not pass through. My question is how can I test the air valve itself? The car idles at about 500rpm cold and sometimes will stall, after a few minutes it idles perfectly.
