1982 911SC Intermittently the engine just dies

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC; Year: 1982; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 169000;

Intermittently the engine just dies as though someone has turned off the ignition switch. Happens usually when the engine is up to operating temperature. Symptoms include the tach immediately drops to zero, engine dies, sometimes without pushing in the clutch the engine will start back up after a few seconds, sometimes the only way to get it started is push in the clutch and start it back up with the key. Sometimes it wont start until about an hour has gone by. I have literally replaced all ignition components with new parts: distributor, coil, Perma-Tune ignition box, Perma-tune ignition wiring harness, spark plug wires, electrical portion of the ignition switch. I have also replaced the battery, the alternator, fuel pump, fuel pump relay all with new components. Very frustrating! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
