1983 911 SC Brake Lines

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC; Year: 1983; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 101,000;

I have been replacing my OEM rubber lines with new lines. The hard lines have been very difficult to remove and I have already broken the hard line that goes from the front coupler to the left side flexible break hose. It was fairly easy to replace after I dropped rock guard to get to the coupler. I have been unable to remove the rear driver side flexible line from the hard line that connects to the rear coupler. On the other hard lines that broke or twisted on me, they did so, even when I held the fitting with the flared nut wrench and used another wrench (14mm) to turn the flexible line to get it to unscrew.On the rear driver's side hard line that won't come loose, it appears that if I damage the hard line the transmission mounting bracket would have to be removed to get at the coupler to replace the hard line. Am I correct in assuming that I could place a jack under the transmission to support it while I removed the bracket and replaced the hard line? I am reluctant to use heat due to the proximity of the fitting to the gas line.
