1983 911SC Carburetor Setup

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC ; Year: 1983; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 78000;

I am currently working on a 1983 911 SC cab that I bought for a winterproject. When I got the car it had been turkeyized badly by someone withno knowledge of 911s. Things are going well and the car now runs anddrives, but poorly. The previous owner had replaced the fuel injectionwith carburetors; specifically, rebuilt 40 TIN Zeniths. Unfortunately, itdoesn't run worth beans and I am pretty sure it is due to the carburetorsetup. I am familiar with the recommended setup and jetting published for40 IDA 3C Webers having previously owned a 2.7RS clone with thesecarburetors. would the same basic jetting be a good place to start onthis car with Zeniths? Obviously it doesn't run very well with 47.5 idlejets, 115 main jets, etc. Thanks for any advice you can give that cansave me from having to spend big bucks for new carbs. The car will bestreet driven with drivers' ed sessions once or twice a year.
