1983 911SC Clutch Question

Transmission

Vehicle Information: Model: 911SC; Year: 1983; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 20,800;

I recently purchased my first 911, and I am having a hard time getting the same answer on the type of clutch in my car. I purchased the car from the original owner, who maintained it beautifully. It has all of 20,000 miles on it from new. I have been reading the horror stories about exploding rubber-centered clutches, so I did as much research as possible. I have found (on this site) that the 1978-1983 SCs had the rubber-centered clutches. I have also talked to a number of reputable Porsche shops, who have told me that the rubber-centered clutches were only on the early SCs. Most say that the 1983 has the later spring-centered unit. Is there any way that I can get a definitive answer as to what clutch is in my car?
