1985 911 Carrera Cold Running Problems

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1985; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): Horiz. opposed 6 cyl. stock config.; Total Mileage: 101,000;

When first started cold, the engine seems to stumble and the R.P.M.surges between about 600 and 950. When starting off, it seems to run leanand wants to stall unless you use a lot of throttle and ride the clutch.It has had a recent tune-up with new cap, ignition wires, rotor, valveadjustment, and any D.M.E. adjustments I could do using the new BentleyBooks Manual. After a mile or two, the car becomes much more driveable,but the engine still "hunts" between about 850 and 950 R.P.M. Have anyideas?
