1985 911 Carrera Oil Tank Overfill

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1985; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 144 k;

During an oil change, the oil fill was greater than required. Thisresulted in excessive smoking from the engine exhaust. The engine wasdrained and refilled to a lower, proper level. The engine still smokesexcessively. I am fearful of driving, and starting the car. How can thissituation be corrected? Can the engine be damaged by running until theoverfill is blown out? Are the use of fuel additives recommend to run theengine on during this condition, and will the additives correct theproblem?
