1985 911 Carrera rear wheel noise

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1985; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L; Total Mileage: 57K;

When leaving work the other day, and driving slowly through the parking lot (which is not completely smooth surface), I noticed a sort of "tap-tap" type of noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car. It is not a grinding or rubbing sound, and it is clearly related to the right rear wheel area.I have been trying to experiment and see if the noise relates to any specific maneuver, but cannot isolate it. The following are my observations: (1) I can hear it as I drive along the road normally, though it is not too pronounced; however, this might be due to road noise. (2) When I drive slowly, and the road is a little bumpy I can hear the noise clearly. (3) If I brake hard and then accelerate I can sometimes hear it too.I have looked under the car, and I can see nothing that seems to be out of place.Does this description sound similar to anything that has been reported? Any help would be appreciated.
