1985 911 Hofco Alarm

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1985; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 34,5000;

I have an 85' factory turbo-look that the previous owner did not drive much so they removed the inline fuse from the Hofco alarm and stored the car. I recently replaced the inline fuse and put new batteries into the push button remote. Is there a way to reset the alarm? My friend has Hofco in his Carrera and I pulled his fuse to see the size. When I replaced it, the alarm went off and after pushing his remote a few times, it worked fine. When I put in the fuse, the there is an audible chirp and the doors remain unlocked. Pushing the remote buttons do nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know there are other alarms now, but I just like the push button lock, unlock feature and I think that this should work if I knew what I was doing!
