1986 944 Overheating with AC On

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944): 944; Year: 1986; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.5 N/A; Total Mileage: 96350;

With my a/c on at idle, the car runs about 2/3 (or just below the second hash mark.) As I drive, it heats up to just below hot. When I come to a light and stop, the needle goes back to just below the second hash mark again. I've replaced the cooling fan temp switch with a low temp switch, had the radiator boiled out, replaced the water pump,(along with the t-belt), replaced the thermostat, had the block flushed, added "Motor-Kool" replaced all hoses, and bled the cooling system. I'm stumped. I wonder if it may be a defective thermostat (perhaps it's hanging up, and restricting the flow????). I used an aftermarket thermostat.
