1986 944 Turbo Water in oil cap

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 1986; Engine (type, size, modifications): chips,wastgate shims,airfilter,cat back exhaust; Total Mileage: 140,000;

After driving the car I always check under the hood for anything unusual. The car seems to be using water. The level is checked at full cold,if I drive for a total of 3 hours at std freeway speeds and check the level the following morning, it has droped just under half between the high and low mark. With the car at normal temps I've noticed a few drops of water attached to the underside of the oil fill cap, is this normal? The car had its belts and seals replace just 3k miles ago and runs great. No oil or water leaks, the head has never been removed and the car is greatly cared for. Due to the external oil cooler is it still possible to have water leaking into the oil system after shut-down?
