1987 911 Carrera wheels

My car is in show condition, and when a Denver area Porsche dealer recently replaced the tires they used an adhesive remover on the rims, turning them a spotted milky white. I have been advised that the only cure is a complete refinish, and Weidman Wheels has been recommended. Any further thoughts?
