Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carerra; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): Stock; Total Mileage: 59000;

For best peformance, when would you recommend changing the distributor cap and rotor. I don't find any guideline in the owners manual.Same question on the shocks. The car handles well, but you get used to a car, how can I know if replacing the shocks would improve handling. Distributor cap and shocks on my car are the originals after 59000 miles and 15 years.
