1987 911 "thump" whem cornering

Just bought the car a month ago, my first Porsche, GREAT car. 1)I hear a muted "thump" when cornering.Doesn't happen on bumps or braking. It sounds like it is coming from the rear of the car, like something hitted a padded trunk lining in a conventional car. I have had the car on a lift, engine and trans mounts are tight, as is exhaust system. I have taken a wooden 1x3 and applied some pressure to anything that looks like a possibility, no movement. Service records show new axles about 15k ago, they do shift in and out with gentle to moderate hand pressure, CV boots all solid. What am I missing? 2) Clutch starts out smooth in the morning, by the end of a normal drive, it feels like the hydraulics have "pumped uo" a bit(pedal sticks when pushed to the floor, DON"T have to engage clutch all the way to shift), it's fine the next morning (for a while
