1987 924S Fuel line

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 924S; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 117xxx;

Pet shows a hard line crimped to a rubber line w/fitting. The line I refer to connects to the FPR. But on my car the hard line comes from the FF and has no screw type flare fitting as shown in PET.Somewhere it is supposed to have a flared screw on fitting near the front seat on the bottom tub that connects to the hard line to the FF. My 87 924S does not have it. I have a new line 999 181 716 50. Porsche says it is for an 85 924. Pet shows the exact same line type for all years. I am lost. Am I to assume I need to cut the hard line under the tube and reflare the end on the steel line and install a new male fitting flare nut? The female end is appx 2" long hex nut coupler.Reason for change is the fuel line is leaking at the FPR crimp near the rail, not the short line.
