1987 944 Battery drain

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 944; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 169,000;

The car sits a lot as I take the bus. I replaced the battery with an Interstate battery as I heard they were good and had good luck with them before. It lasted about 1 year. I took it back and it was replaced free of charge. Apparently it was bad. I trickle charge often, but the car will not start anymore. I took the replacement battery out and tried to charge it. It would not take a charge in or out of the car. Something is draining/ruining the batteries. I had the shop where I bought the battery check the charging system. He says it is OK. He is not a Porsche shop. I took it to a Porsche shop previously to replace the clutch slave cylinder. I asked them to check the charging system as the battery was dead again. They charged it up and said the system was OK. What gives? My remote radar dectector no longer works after a fender bender with the front end, years ago. Might this be a short and slow drain?Any other ideas? I replaced the dead DME box with a used 1988 DME years ago. Seems to work fine. Ideas?I have run out...
