1987 944 Turbo Steering wheel removal

Interior

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 944 turbo; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 97,000;

I need to remove the dash for recovering and need to access the gauge cluster for light repair. The car is fitted with air bags. My understanding is that the battery must be disconnected and I should wait 30 minutes before attempting to remove air bag so the associated capacitor(s) is discharged. I then believe the steering wheel air bag is removed by removing the two torx screws from behind the wheel and lifting off the center wheel assembly containing the air bag. Is this correct? Is there anything else I need to do to remove the airbag before proceeding with the wheel removal?
