1987 944S Clutch pedal return

Transmission

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 944S; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 91k;

Purchased this car in May and have ran over 2k miles. It runs great with the exception of the clutch pedal, if you depress the pedal all the way to the floor, it may or may not, but it probably will stick there for a few seconds before releasing. Depressing the pedal approximately 3/4 of the way results in normal operation. Clutch does not slip or shudder nor is there any grinding of the gears during shifting. This plus double clutch shifting is how I've taken to driving the car. I read the two previous entries that described somewhat similar problems but in one it was recommended a clutch replacement and for the other a slave cylinder. Have any ideas as to the proper way to address this problem? Will continued operation under the above conditions worsen the situation?
