1988 911 Carrera shock replacement

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 Stock ; Total Mileage: 95,000;

First my car has been lowered to 25.3 in the front. I plan to raise it to 25.5My question is I am not too sure when to replace the shocks.When I push on either corner there is no give or movement down. It is just solid, making for a jarring ride overall.When I have jacked up the car for repairs the car will then have some give when pushing down but by the next morning it's all solid. Can the front struts just give out like all pressure has leaked out, And I am now riding on Torsion bars alone?Inserts are not too expensive and I am replacing them very soon. Since I will keep the the car at this height is there any recommendations.
