1988 911 Carrera Valve Guides

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L; Total Mileage: 143,000 Kms/ 86,000 miles;

Our car is in storage for the winter but I take the cover off and startthe engine every 10 days or so just to keep the oil circulating and thebattery charged. About every 3rd or 4th time I start the car I get aninitial puff of blue smoke and after a few seconds it clears. I don'tdrive the car very much (1300 miles this year) but I was wondering if thevalve guides might need checking or is this normal with a car that isbeing run so infrequently? I had the car serviced (oil change & filter,brake fluid flush and valve adjustment about 200 miles ago) and themechanic didn't mention any unusual wear. Should he have noticed if theywere worn? If it is the valves are they easy to check? If they requirereplacement how much does a typical valve job cost?
