1988 924S Limited slip differential identification

Transmission

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 924S; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 80,000;

I have talked to different people about limited slip and how you can tell if the transmission is LSD. But I am still not sure. I have been told by several people that the sure way is to floor the car, pop the clutch and see if one tire or both tires spin. The car passed this test for LSD but when you do the other test (jack the car up and spin one wheel and see what the other one does) the sometimes passes and other times fails. One time both wheels turned in the same direction for one turn and then the other wheel didn't turn. One time you turn the wheel and the other wheel goes in the opposite direction for a short time and stops. The car was sold at the dealer as an "Auto-X" model. It has the 030 option with no sunroof, electric windows etc. I ran the codes in the back of the trunk through the option code decoder and none showed a LSD. Then someone said you needed to use the code on the transmission. Then i read about a 944 that would act like LSD but didn't have the code on the transmission showing it was LSD. Please help resolve this question.
