1988 924S Rear sway bar

Suspension

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 924S; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 135,000;

I have 1988 924S that I use both as daily driver and for autocrosses during the summer months. I would like to decrease the understeer by increasing the stiffness of the rear suspension by relacing the current torsion bar with a larger diameter one. How do I determine the diameter of the existing one? I have tried looking, but it is difficult to see anything without a lift. Or would increasing the diameter of the rear sway bar be an easier way? I believe the suspension is stock (I have only had this car 2 years.) It has front and rear sway bars but the front suspension seems firmer than the rear.
