I was wondering on my 89' 930 coupe , why there is a black-painted steel, flat plate, in between the two wire screens that lay flat under the grill of the rear wing-spoiler? This "plate" only seems to block cool incoming air to the inter-cooler and engine compartment. Is it just a visual copsmetic thing or was there truly a functional aspect to it? Would , removing it , allow more cooling air to enter my intercooler? The plate measures apoximately 12in. long by 4 in. wide
