1989 944 S2 Oil leak, oil cooler


Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 944S2; Year: 1989; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 198,000;

I drive this car 25K a yr. I go to the track as much as I can afford to. Over a 100k ago I had the gasket replaced between the oil filter housing and the block. It or the pressure sender or the oil lines are leaking again. How difficult is this repair and are there any important empirical notes you can pass on? I'm confused about your responses to other S2 owners complaining of H2O oil mixing due to bad seals at this spot. The S2 has an external cooler, how much risk is there of seal failure leading to mixing? Same confusion about cam belt tensioner, isn't it basically the same as the one in the 968?
