1990 944S2 Starting method

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 944S2, 944S2; Year: 1990; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 86000;

The other two sports cars in the stable are British Triumphs, TR6 and Spitfire. Recently purchased the 944S2 for my spouse to drive. The recommended starting sequence for the Triumphs is to start the car with the clutch engaged and transmission in neutral. This reduces the wear on the crankshaft thrust bearings. As the 944S2 will start with the clutch engaged or disengaged I wondered what is the best method to use on this vehicle. In other words is it better for the car to be started without loading on the crankshaft, like the Triumphs, or there is no difference. Understand that starting with the clutch disengaged is safer but that could produces additional and unecessary wear on the engine.
