1990 964 C2 Idle problems

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 964 C2; Year: 1990; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 41000;

The idling problem comes in two parts. The first issue is what I call first red light. The rpm blips up about 500rpm and starts hunting and eventually stall if I do not give it throttle.Second issue is coming to a stop where the rpm dips very low.If I run with AC (I live in Miami!) it stalls. Without AC it usually recovers. The first issue goes away after driving for a while. The second does not.I have replaced idle switch, idle stabilizer, O2 sensor,spark plugs. Cleaned throttle body and I have visually checked hoses. Cleaned all el contacts I can find. I read somewhere that chipped engines sometimes need a DME reset. Could this be the way to go or do you have any other suggestions. The car runs fine otherwise and uses very little oil.It has an Autothority MFI and chip.
