1990 964 Dash Warning Lights On Unexpectedly

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 964; Year: 2000; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 62,000;

About three months ago I asked for advise about what could be causing the warning lights and a buzzer to go on intermittently when the headlights or parking lights were on. I had to turn off the car and restart to get them to go out. then they may come on again after ten minutes or maybe not for 60 minutes. Right after I submitted my question you had another PCA member ask the same question.You were stumped at that time so I wanted to let you know what the "apparent" cause was.Per the technician that worked on the car it had two spark plug wires that were not securely connected to the spark plug. Apparently they were close enough that the current would arc across the gap so the engine seemed normal but the arc caused some type interference with the computer. No problems since connecting them securely.Have a great holiday season,Ken (or as one member termed me) "The dork that asked the radio question"
