1990 C2 Clutch conversion

Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Model: 964 C2; Year: 1990; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6; Total Mileage: 102,000 miles;

My dual mass flywheel has given up. With 100K miles on it I feel a total clutch replacement is in order. I am considering a single mass flywheel conversion. I am concerned that the RS flywheel weighing 11 lbs may cause stalling problems for my daily commute if a chip upgrade is not also done. The 89 C4 flywheel is about 19 lbs and should provide a better solution for my commute, but I am concerned that the associated disk with it's rubber center may not stand up to autocross and track days which I believe to be the cause of the dual mass flywheels failure. What are your recommendations for a daily driver that also gets it's share of hard use on the track? Any other clutch options I should consider?Thanks Wayne
