1991 964 Cariolet Water Leak - Next Question

Body and Interior

Vehicle Information: Model: 964; Year: 1991; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 77K;

As of my prior question re: door moisture barrier, it appeared that the water entering the rear foot wells may have been from the door area. But, further water testing indicates that most of the water in the rear foot wells enters via the trunk air intake. We sprayed water in that area and several minutes later observed it entering the foor wells through the openings in the floorpan ribs.Certainly would appreciate your input. It seems that the next step is to inspect the air intake area. Most of the water sprayed into the intake does exit the car directly under the intake, but apparently some is finding its way to the rear area.If I remove the fuel tank, then I should be able to inspect the air intake area? Also, would I have to disconect any of the A/C system? I have read the prior Q&As on the subject and the closest I found to this was possible leaks at the W/S area, which looks fine on this car.Thanks.
