1991 964 Clutch smell

Vehicle Information: Year: 1991; Body Type: Select One; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6; Total Mileage: 50,000;

I had a new clutch installed about 1K ago. Since the installation whenever I start quickly and get little clutch slip I get smell into the cab of burning rubber which I interpret as the clutch burning. It doesn't last and if I drive very carefully and don't push the car at all I get no smell. I have talked to my mechanic who installed the clutch and he has smelled it and doesn't know what it is... I asked it there might be a mismatch of the clutch and flywheel and he said the clutch, flywheel and bearing were all purchased from Sachs as a set and although he doesn't know why I have the smell he does not think it is a problem as the clutch works fine. This may be due to a reluctance to tear it all down again as it it the only way to be sure. I don't want to tear it down either but the smell just doesn't seem right. I had the clutch put in after I had the car a couple of weeks and I never had the smell but I had not driven it amuch as it was badly in need of a tune up ,etc and I was more interested in geting it runing right. Any ideas , should I push to get the tear down to look at the asembly ?
