1991 C2 Cabriolet Wheel spacers for 17" cup II's

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Year: 1991; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 50,000;

I upgraded to 993 Cup II's with Conti Contacts. Everything fits and the ride & handling (and Looks) have improved. But I do have slight contact of inside front tire and back inside fender liner on full lock turns. Being aware of the Porsche bulletin on fitting 17" wheel - I spoke to my mechanic about steering stop washers. He said any minor rubbing did not justify the expense (3+ hours labor + alignment). As an alternative I have ordered 3mm wheel spacers. I want to confirm that this is safe with the exising wheel lugs as others have suggested?I have also read that installing a strut brace is helpful in the Cabrio body. Does this help the wheel spacing in full lock turns and high speed cornering?Thanks in advanceCar Prep: StockModifications: 17" Cup II wheels - 205 & 255 tires from 96' 993Total Mileage: 50,000Car Use: Street use only
