1992 964 airbox decision

Vehicle Information: Model: 964 C2 Cab; Year: 1992; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 70000;

Based on your feedback, I've installed an aftermarket secondary bypass pipe (G-pipe) and absolutely love the results.I also purchased an aftermarket air intake with a simple cone filter. I'd like to know if I would receive optimal/better results by cutting out the surface of the stock airbox or using one of these aftermaket cone filter intakes, or if there is any difference at all? It would seem like drawing air directly from the wing grill would be optimal, but I'll admit to not completely understanding the airflow dynamics within the engine compartment.Thanks
