1992 968 Fuel pump failure

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 968; Year: 1992; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 47,000;

A new factory fuel pump was installed one year ago after failing and it just failed during auto-xing. It has been suggested that it overheated due to the low fuel tank level and hard corning that starved fuel and thus prevented proper cooling and lubrication of the fuel pump otherwise provided by the normal flow of fuel thru the pump. I'm replacing the factory fuel pump, which is warranted by Porsche, as well as the fuel pump relay. I also plan to run with at least one-half full fuel tank levels. Do you recommend any other areas to check or improve to prevent future problems?
