1993 964 RS America Feels like rev limiter @ 5,800 rpm

Other

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 RS America (964); Year: 1993; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 5,500;

After the engine gets hot, when reaching 5,800 rpm, the car feels like it hit the rev limiter. It backfires slightly and then stumbles as if it is not getting enough fuel. Continued use thru the run session the problem gets continually worse and occurs down to 5,000rpm and the stumbling gets progressively worse also. It gets to the point where driving the car above 5,000 rpm is very difficult and loses speed. In order to try to cure the problem, I have replaced both coils, distributor, sprk plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, O2 sensor and the problem still remains. I have also switched out the DME unit with another RSA but no luck in fixing the problem. Any thoughts on this problem?
