1993 968 Driveline thud

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 968; Year: 1993; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 73000;

This is my first experience with Porsche and the car is a very recent purchase so I am still getting to know the character of the car.I am experiencing what I would call a thud somewhere in the driveline when selecting first gear at a light (clutch depressed, rowing the gear lever to first.) It is also noticable during upshifts (all.) If it were a chain driven motorcycle I would call it driveline lash/slack. It feels as though it is reeling-in some slack somewhere. It is something you can surely feel but not really hear. The car runs and shifts smoothly otherwise. No clutch slip or excessive noise anywhere. Already swapped dif oil for Swepco which did nothing for the issue. Have had a couple people tell me that their cars do the same thing.Would like to know if this is simply Porsche character or if this is indicative of a larger problem. Appreciate any assistance.
