1993 968 Tiptronic torque converter lockup

Vehicle Information: Model(924/944/968): 968; Year: 1993; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 63000;

Question - What if any changes are there in the '93 Tip compared to earlier models? Compared to a '91 Tip in my prior Porsche, a 964 C-2 Cab with Tip, I note several differences. The dash indicator shows the engaged gear on the Tip side even in "D" (that's nice), and the responce to shift down to first (from usual second in "D") on start is quicker with less pedal input. In the C2 you could feel when the torque converter locked up in second & third gear, but in the 968 there is No sensing that the torque converter ever locks. Is this an improvement, or is it possible it is not working and no faults are indicated. I assume any problems in the tip would show up in the "Check" system? Is the 968 Tip just Smoother?
