1995 993 Air Conditioning

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Model: 993; Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 31572;

I recently purchased a 1995 933 having 29,400 miles. The previous owner provided me with all of the maintenance documentation. About 2 weeks prior to the purchase, the air conditioning (A/C) was recharged. During the first day of driving the 1,600 mile trip home the A/C stopped blowing cold or even cool air. When I reached my destination, I had the local Porsche dealership go over the car to include the A/C. The dealership indicated that the car was in very good shape but the A/C needed to be charged. I indicated that it was recently recharged by the previous owner and provided them a copy of the repair record. They indicated that the "sniffer" did not locate a leak. They recharged the system along with a dye to help trace any leaks in the event it should fail. The A/C worked for less than a full day. I returned to the dealership to indicate the A/C is not cooling. After checking the system, I was told that the condenser needed to be replaced. I gave the okay.When I picked up the car, the A/C worked fine. I only used the car for a few days then parked it in the garage while I was out of town for 6 days. When I got back and took the car out the A/C was not blowing cold or cool air.This is my first Porsche. I love it with the exception of the A/C. Should I be more patient with the local Porche dealership as this may be a complicated problem to diagnose? Both repairs were expensive. Any suggestions? Is it reasonable for the dealership to make futher repairs without charging me?Thank You.Ray
