1995 993 brake pedal softness

Brakes

Vehicle Information: Model: 993; Year: 1995; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 35000;

Your advice helped me dodge a $5000.00 bullet and avoid a safety hazard......thanks!! Bought my 993 cab 3 yrs ago with 28000 miles on it. The car came with 18" wheels. As part of the deal,I required the dealer (Momentum Porsche) to perform a 30,000 mile service which i erroneously assumed included a brake fluid flush. Recently, I experienced the 2 stage spongy brake pedal syndrome. Scanning your articles for the past few years I learned about the brake fluid slime issue as well as the supplemental steering bracket required for 95's otfitted with 18" wheels. The dealer that services my car now (Advance of Houston) was able to flush the system until the sponginess disappeared and install the required bracket for $500.00. They credited their success on the braking system to my early detection of the problem. I would have never known of the issues if it weren't for you. Thanks again!!
