1995 993 Cabriolet Tachometer "sticking"

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 993 Cabriolet; Year: 1995; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 57,500;

When I turn off the ignition, the tach "sticks" at the 200 rpm mark (the engine off). If I then turn the ignition on to accessory, not start, the tach will fall to the correct "off" peg location. If I were to tap the tach while it is at the 200 rpm mark, it will slowly fall to the correct spot. The tach seems to work correctly while the engine is running. How can this be fixed without replacing the tach?Thank you.
