1995 993 Clutch Pedal Problem and Engine Backfire

Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 46,500;

After the car has been driven and it's warm, the clutch pedal will occasionally stick and get hung up. At one point, the pedal did not return to its original position and I had to manually reach down and pull it back up. My mechanic said it was the master slave cylinder so that was replaced and new fluid was added. However, the problem still persists although not as often. Also, once in a while I get a backfire when accelerating hard out of first gear - usually between 4,000-5,000 rpms. I was told this was normal with 911 air-cooled engines.
