You raised a good point in a response to a post of 7/22/06 regarding modifications.Aftermarket makers of intake, exhaust and chip systems claim some pretty impressive gains in hp/efficiency by bolting on their products.I know Porsche has over the years tried to quiet the intake and exhaust for various reasons, and presumably (to some extent) made them less efficient in the process, but is there really 15-20% to be found in efficiency as is advertised by these manufacturers? One would assume that Porsche engineering would be better than that.If my car has approx 270hp, then I should be able to bolt on about 35 - 50 hp for about $3500. Is this really possible?Have you ever seen any independent, dyno-based test to verify these results? Thanks for your response.
