1995 993 Engine Rebuild in an earlier 911

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: ??;

Hi Joel,I have a 1995 3.6 engine in a 1987 tub. The engine has a supercharger from TPC. The supercharger was installed in early 2004 by TPC. I bought the car in June of 2006 and added the TPC intercooler to the supercharger for added engine life and hp. When the supercharger was originally installed, TPC did not offer an intercooler for the supercharger that is why it wasn't originally installed. I have put 4000 track mile on the car since I bought it and for the most part the car has run extremely well and I love the added torque provided by the supercharger. I run 103 octane race fuel. Prior the adding the intercooler I was running 4.5 psi boost. When I put the intercooler on TPC recommended changing the pulley so that I am now running 6.5 psi. Unfortunatly, my last time at the track the engine blew throwing the #1 rod through the casing.Here's my question. I am considering rebuilding the engine (with a new case obviously) and putting the supercharger back on. I want to make the engine as reliable and durable as possible so that I am not rebuilding every couple of years. One change that I plan on making is going back to 4.5 psi boost. It has been suggested that I install Carrillo rods for added strength. What else do you recommend that would strengthen the engine for the added boost? Or do you think it is a bad idea putting the supercharger back on? I appreciate any input you can offer. Thanks.
