1996 911 C2 Central Warning Light

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 C2; Year: 1996; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 26569;

I recently purchased a 1996 C2 with 25700 miles. On turning on the ignition, all of the warning lights come on as normal. I have checked to be sure all bulbs are burning. After starting the car and running for about 10 seconds, the central warning light (!) comes on; none of the other lights come on. After drivng the car for about 5 miles, the central warning light will go off on it's own or I can over ride the light. The car appears to run fine. I have been told this is a engine readiness light and it is normal. Is this normal or should I be concerned about it? Thanks
