1996 964/993 Valve Guides and Mixture

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 993 C2; Year: 1996; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 32000;

I've seen speculation, here and elsewhere, that the valve guide wear problem is due to excessively rich fuel mixture.1) Is there some practical test for correct mixture?2) I would have guessed that the valve/guide interface is not lubricated by oil. I recall that in the leaded-gasoline days, the lead served to help lubricate these surfaces. I would have supposed that any fluid finding its way into this interface would help. Do you have insight into this?3) The various performance chips probably change the mixture mapping. Is there any correlation here?4) Cold running uses a richer mixture. Engines that do a lot of cold running would see a lot of liquid gasoline going through the intake ports. Do you suppose there's a correlation here?Thanks for humoring my curiosity.
