1996 993 brake pedal travel

Brakes

Vehicle Information: Model: 993; Year: 1996; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 15000;

This is a followup on my contaminated brake fluid E-mail 2/8/05.The following problem existed prior to the work underway. Initial brake pedal is firm then in a few seconds it drops about one inch then firm again and then does not drop again. This happens under all braking conditions, but the brakes work fine as far as controlling the car.All calipers cleaned, master cylinder changed out[new],replaced brake fluid and bled several times to be sure.The system appears to be free of contaminated fluid.The ABS pump seems to be ok.Also replaced the two valves that screw into the anti-lock valve body.At this point I have $2,000+ in this project[$900 in parts incl.]and still the same problem.I am told that the next step is to nreplace the anti-lock valve body[Porsche pt.#99335575550 or Bosch pt.#0265217001] at about $2,600. plus labor of 1 to 1 1/2 hoursAny thoughts you might have on this undertaking would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU
