1996 993 C4S Remote Door Unlock and Remote Immobilizer

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 1996 993 C4S ; Year: 1996; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 53,300;

I recently acquired this car (1996 993 C4S Coupe) and it requires two remotes to get the car started.The car came with two sets of two remotes:1)A two button PA 2000 remote for unlocking the car doors that also serves to engage certain electronics. a.If the car is left unlocked for a few minutes and then one turns on the ignition all lights except the check engine light will light. If you activate the PA 2000 remote then an additional engine electronics hum can be heard and the check engine light comes on.2)A one button remote (Robert Bosch RK 116) that disables the engine immobilizer so that the car will actually start.Clearly this is inconvenient and inefficient to have a key plus two remotes needing to be used sequentially as best as I can tell.PS The second set is 1) Switchblade key (broken housing) and 2) A one button remote as above.
