1996 993 Competition seat/bracketry installation issues

Vehicle Information: Year: 1996; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 63,000;

I have a 1996 911 Carrera 2 coupe (w/sunroof) that sees occasional track time at VIR through PCA Drivers Ed events.I recently installed a pair of Sparco Evo seats, six-point Sparco harnesses, and Brey-Krause harness guide-bar. This is a doable, but fairly challenging puzzle for the uninitiated.I wanted to utilize sliders for leg room adjustment and convenience, in conjunction with Brey-Krause side mount seat brackets.At 6'1", I found that achieving an acceptable balance between leg and head room (including helmet) to be a significant challenge. With sliders in place, my helmeted head would just contact the roof liner. Without the sliders, the seat and brackets could be bolted directly to the rear-most anchor points on the floorboard using Porsches clever sliding bolt-blocks. I had plenty of head room, but leg room is just barely sufficient. The brackets could be manufactured differently so that the mounting holes allowed the seat to be mounted further back. With a good drill press, I might even be able to tweak-out a little more leg room.Presently, I have sliders on the passenger side (to allow rear-storage access) and direct attachment on the drivers side.Is this a common problem for others?Any suggestions?
