1996 993 Need new flywheel at 25k?

Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Year: 1996; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 25,500;

I brought my car to Rick DeMan to have him diagnose the rough idle (which I wrote you about previously) and also had him check out some moderate clunkiness in the shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. He wasn't able to diagnose anything with the idle issue, but did say that it felt like my 2nd and 3rd gear synchros were worn and also said that the rattling I hear when I turn off the engine (sounds like loud engine run-on) is a failing flywheel.I'm the 3rd owner so I don't know how the car was driven by the previous 2 owners, but does this sound like very low mileage for a flywheel replacement? What are the drawbacks/risks to continue to drive with the flywheel the way it is? And is that engine run-on sound a symptom of a bad flywheel? I'd like to avoid dropping $3,000+ if possible or at least postpone it.My clutch seems to be in good working order, so would you recommend switching to the RS clutch/flywheel or simply replacing the DMF with a new one?Thanks, as always.Car Prep: StockModifications: NoneTotal Mileage: 25,500Car Use: Street use only
