1997 993 C2S Computer reset drive cycle REVISED

Vehicle Information: Year: 1997; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 30,880;

Just before I purchased the car the battery had been changed, as it had sat for about 8 months. When I went for the emmision test I got a "not ready for test" result. My mechanic (Performance Imports, Atlanta) confirmed this.I attempted to perform the drive cycle outlined earlier in the forum, but no luck. It's just about impossible to do in Atlanta traffic. The car had a successful test last November, and only has been driven 1000 miles since then. All maintenance has been done, including oil changes at twice the recomended interval. According to Peter at Perf. Imports it's a clean, well maintained car.OK now to the question. With normal driving will this car test by next May when I have to get it tested again? Could there be an underlying problem preventing the computer from resetting?I did manage to get a waiver so that I could register the car, and legally drive it.Modifications: noneTotal Mileage: 30,880Car Use: Street use onlyState: GA
